Calgary takes its courtship of Amazon to next level

Calgary has made no secret of its affections for Amazon in the 42 days since the Seattle-based tech giant announced it would invest as much as $5 billion to establish a second headquarters in North America. On Thursday, the budding courtship was made official with the delivery of a 200-page bid package that city officials believe will persuade the company to bring as many as 50,000 jobs here. Elon Musk’s Boring Company digs into a plan for tunnel from Baltimore to D.C.

The tunnel boring machine nicknamed “Godot” sits in a below-ground chamber. Elon Musk reportedly acquired the pre-owned machine from L.A. Metro.
