Combine every “Baywatch” episode and each Motley Crue songs, and that strange pop-culture concoction would couldn’t match the drama Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee have produced in the last few days.
Lee, you might remember, was left bloodied and unconscious after a brawl Monday night with the divorced couple’s 21-year-old son Brandon. Father and son have been trading barbs since, and Anderson weighed in Thursday in defense of her son.
Anderson posted a statement titled “Alcoholism Is the Devil” on her website on Thursday, placing the blame of squarely on the former Motley Crue drummer.
“Nobody understands the lifetime of disappointment this man has brought our family,” Anderson wrote. “Consistently the centre of sadness, drama and confusion. Jealous of his sons talent and beauty from the day they were born. He is sick. The definition of narcissist/sociopath.
“Trying to paint him as not a bad guy. Just one who is human and made mistakes,” continued Anderson, who says she is currently in France. “He still cannot handle the guilt about his abusive behavior and has never taken responsibility for what he has done. Let’s hope this will be his saving grace. I can only pray for him. And protect my sons who also fiercely protect me.”
Lee and Anderson have a second son, 20-year-old Dylan Lee.
They married in 1995, and their union suffered its first blow when the couple’s sex tape was stolen and sold on the internet. Anderson filed for divorce in 1996, but the pair reconciled. He was charged with felony assault after the two fought in their kitchen in 1998 (with Brandon watching) and eventually served 6 months in prison. They divorced that year but their relationship has been off and on since then, with a handful mini-reconciliations.
