Mystery object: Last year I was the guest appraiser at a function in San Mateo. Among the objects brought in was this rounded triangular sterling silver item about 5 inches long. It is rather plain in appearance and was acquired at a Hillsborough estate sale by the owner. Can you help identify this novelty? Send your best guess by May 1 and I’ll let you know what I discover in a future column.
A festive occasion: The always anticipated annual Blossom Festival in Saratoga takes place March 24.
Sponsored by the City of Saratoga and produced by the Saratoga Historical Foundation, there will be antique automobiles on display, live music, crafts for sale, an art show, booths representing local organizations, a petting zoo, activities for children – even people acting and dressed in historical costumes. And there’s a poetry reading by Bill Peck and a lecture by Ann Marie Sayers on “Ohlone Territory.”
