Following the Avalanche’s 5-3 win over the Predators at the Pepsi Center on Monday, here’s what Colorado players and coach Jared Bednar had to say about the victory that cut the first-round playoff series deficit to 2-1.

Gabriel Landeskog on the importance of not going down 3-0:

“This (win) gets us right back into things. Obviously climbing out of 2-0 is a lot different than 0-3 — that’s a really big hole — but right now, I’m happy with the way we played tonight. We came out and answered the bell — we came out with a lot of energy like we did in the first two games as well, but the difference was we stayed on the forecheck and stayed aggressive tonight.”

Landeskog on the rowdy Pepsi Center fans:

“The crowd exceeded all the expectations that we had. We kept telling the young guys, ‘Just wait for the playoffs and wait to see what this building can do,’ and the Avs fans showed that tonight.”

Landeskog on the game’s increasing chippiness:

“It felt like in the second period, it was a bit too much after the whistle, and we ended up in the penalty box a little too much. Some of their guys, that’s the way they want to play — they want to play after whistles and not in-between, and we’re kind of the opposite.”

Mark Barberio on the play of goalie Jonathan Bernier:

“Bernie looks really calm and confident in the net, and it just exudes through our team when he’s playing like that.”

Blake Comeau on the key to slowing the Predators’ pace:

“They’ve got well-rounded defensemen, and defensemen who can jump into play (on offense), so anytime we get a chance to finish checks on them and try to slow them down, that’s what we want to do.”
