Where is LeBron James going to play next season? How about in Denver?
Speculation about where the 33-year-old Cavaliers superstar will go this offseason has ranged from joining the up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers to the contending Houston Rockets to even the defending champion Golden State Warriors. But on Wednesday’s episode of “The Hastings and Browman Show” on Altitude AM 950, former Nuggets guard Earl Boykins chimed in and said the Mile High City is a viable option.
“He’s going to look at Denver,” Boykins said. “… He’s going to talk to (Nuggets president of basketball operations) Tim (Connelly) and he’s going to say, ‘If I sign here, what moves are you going to make? What’s going to be left if I decide to sign here.’ The Nuggets have the young pieces that LeBron wants around him.”
Among those young pieces is 23-year-old center Nikola Jokic.
“He (James) likes Jokic because he’s big and he can shoot and can handle the basketball and can pass,” Boykins said.
