YouTube famous Yodel Boy will be taking Calgary by storm on Friday with two performances, giving you double the chance of hearing Mason Ramsey’s yodelling talent.

Ramsey will begin his day with an hour-long concert on the second floor of The CORE shopping centre. The free performance will take place on Cowboys pop up stage at noon, but according to vice-president of Cowboys Scarlet Lee, you had better be early because “people are going nuts for this kid.”

“The audiences just love him, especially the younger generation, like the 18- to 25-year-olds, they love him and there’s a lot of people rooting for him,” said Lee on July 5.

Following this concert, Yodel Boy will also sing in the Cowboys Music Festival tent later Friday night.

The 11-year-old, who was discovered on YouTube through a video of him yodelling in his local Walmart, will be the youngest person to perform on the Cowboys stage.

According to Lee, it was no easy task getting him there.

“We are an 18-plus venue but we got approval ahead of time for the short set that he’ll have on stage.”

The CORE pop up stage does not come with an age restriction, however, so old and young are welcome to enjoy Ramsey’s southern drawl.
