Friday, Blissett made his college pick following a busy summer recruitment.

Poly Prep (Brooklyn, N.Y.) three-star defensive tackle Jason Blissett, now a 6-3, 280-pounder, has seen his recruitment take off since the spring, as he’s grown into a true top regional recruit.

Friday, he made his collegiate pick: The University of Miami.

The Hurricanes got involved in Blissett’s recruitment late. However, the program did enough to get him to campus for its Paradise camp in August, which led to an offer and his eventual pledge.

Meanwhile, late offers from Texas A&M, Florida, Indiana, UCF and Tennessee — which offered Friday (today) — also made the decision a difficult one.

Nevertheless, Blissett has found his new home.

On August 8, Blissett cut his list of top schools down to seven, with Rutgers making the cut as expected, especially after it at one point being proclaimed Blissett’s school “at the top.” But in the end, due to a huge recruiting surge featuring the who’s who of college football programs extending offers, Rutgers was unable to seal the deal.

“Rutgers is a great program, even better people,” Blissett told NJ.com Thursday,” but I just found a better fit.”

Blissett is ranked the No. 3 recruit in New York for 2019, and the country’s 35th-best defensive tackle, according to 247Sports.com. He was also awarded his team’s MVP award in 2017. Temple offered Blissett last Summer on June 3 — his first of 24 options.
