Jennifer Gates, the oldest daughter of billionaires Bill and Melinda Gates, recently gave an interview in Sidelines Magazine where she discussed her upbringing.

“I was born into a huge situation of privilege,” she told the publication, “and I think it’s about using those opportunities and learning from them to find things that I’m passionate about and hopefully make the world a little bit of a better place.”

Gates, inspired by her childhood pediatrician, just finished her first year at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine.

She is also passionate about horseback riding. Gates has been riding since she was six and grew up competing against Eve Jobs, daughter of the late Steve Jobs.

Gates has also shared aspects of her personal life with the public in the past, announcing her engagement to Nayel Nassar, an accomplished equestrian himself, in January.
