Todd Frazier signing completes sneaky-good Mets offseason

The Mets got criticized for most of the offseason, but Todd Frazier added to a good winter in Queens. If Mets fans were looking for a splash, this offseason didn’t provide it. Names like Adrian Gonzalez, Jay Bruce, Anthony Swarzak and Todd Frazier aren’t exactly enough to make you want to rush to buy season tickets, but when looked at compared to the rest of the National League, a different picture emerges. Despite not landing a star, spending on a $100M contract or adding a veteran to the rotation, the Mets are better now than when the 2017 season ended. Here’s why. Depth: When the Mets careened to a 92-loss… Read More

PNC Bank ups sponsorship with Ganassi to Scott Dixon’s car

Chip Ganassi needed a sponsor for his star IndyCar driver and refused to compromise the value of Scott Dixon simply to slap any company name on the side of the car. Little did the team owner know he only had to look in his own hometown for a solution. PNC Bank on Tuesday announced an increased partnership with Ganassi in which the Pittsburgh-based institution will be the primary sponsor for Dixon. The car was unveiled in Indianapolis. Maple Leafs’ Joffrey Lupul seems at peace with probable end of career

Joffrey Lupul doesn’t sound like someone who is contemplating a comeback. One of the first things he says while being introduced on the “Member Guest Podcast” is that he’s “a retired hockey player whose [golf] handicap is ballooning.” The 34-year-old is not technically retired. Tuesday marks the two-year anniversary since his last game with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he still has a couple paycheques remaining in the final year of his contract with the NHL team. Lupul disappeared from the Leafs after having sports hernia surgery in February 2016 and hasn’t been heard from much publicly since. He sounded upbeat during his appearance on the podcast hosted by PGA… Read More

NFL Mock Draft 2018: Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold to Giants? ESPN’s Todd McShay says …

The 2018 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 26, 2018 (4/26/18). The New York Giants have the No. 2 overall pick. Will they take UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, USC quarterback Sam Darnold or Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen? ESPN’s Todd McShay is out with his latest mock draft. While the Giants remain committed to Eli Manning starting at quarterback in 2018, it would be foolish for the team not to consider selecting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. ESPN’s Todd McShay released his latest mock draft on Tuesday, and he has the Giants going for one of the highly-touted signal-callers in this year’s class … UCLA’s… Read More
