Micah Parsons quickly has an impact on his debut on the Packers

Green Bay, Wis.

Less than two weeks after the Dallas Cowboys exchanged their stellar passes corridor to Green Bay, Parsons won his first bag and was second in the team with three pressures in the 2-13 victory of opening of Sunday’s season over the Detroit Lions in Lambeau Field.

He did it in just 29 of the 65 defensive snapshots of the Packers, which was more than what coach Matt Lafleur had anticipated that Parsons would play.

“I feel that his presence was different,” said Campo de los Packers, Jordan Love. “The energy that brought to the crowd when they announced their name and then to get that sack was big.”

However, for Parsons, he felt more like a relief after his tumultuous low season that included his stops hired in Dallas and a waiting game to see where he would play this season.

“I tell you that these last six months were super drain, super toxic for all,” Parsons said. “It is something that I do not think that any player should have to happen. I think the destinies of the players should be decided before. I think the fact that they changed a week before the season was really outrageous and difficult.

“It is something that could have been with these guys improving and better, and we could probably have had an even more dominant beginning if that were the decision we were going to make.”

Packers could also have had time to tell Parsons about the routine prior to the game. When he went out to warm up, Parsons went to the wrong end of the field.

“I went to where the cowboys used to go,” Parsons said. “And they were like, ‘You’re on the wrong side’, so I had to run to the other side. Then, I was definitely lost. No one told me.”

At the end of the warm -up, defensive players generally curl up and, instead of a traditional handshake, all trigger a basketball ball drill. Again, Parsons was in the dark.

“I didn’t even know it was a thing either,” Parsons said. “So, there are many things that I had to learn.”

No one had to show him how to press the Lions’s Marshal Marshal, Jared Goff.

The three Parsons pressures resulted in a loss of 2 yards at the end, an interception of Evan Williams security and, in game 23 of the Parsons game, their first bag with the Packers.

Williams had not seen the repetition of his interception, but when he was told Parsons, he beat the Leon Right Towle all-time, Penei Sewell, in the pressure, the second year security said: “That makes sense.”

The presence of Parsons allowed the defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to move around Lukas Van Ness in a package they call “Cheetah” because it has three fast passenger runners with Rashan Gary, Parsons and Van Ness inside. Van Ness registered four pressures, including a medium sack.

Speaking of speed, Parsons reached a maximum speed of 18.47 MPH when he pursued Goff for his sack of the fourth quarter, according to the next generation statistics of the NFL. That was its fastest maximum speed in any of its 53.5 career catches, although it was news for Parsons.

“I couldn’t even explode yet, you know what I mean,” Parsons said. “I will continue to improve. There are many things that I want to fix. I feel that I did not have a complete game and, obviously, that will happen not to play for six months, but I can take this and build on it, and we will be a very good football team.”

Parsons said he didn’t need an injection for his back injury.

Several times after the game, Parsons expressed his gratitude because the Packers exchanged him for him and his teammates and the multitude of Lambeau Field hugged him.

Parsons received one of the strongest ovations of the day when he ran out of the tunnel shortly before the start. On the eve of the game, Lafleur told Parsons that they would appear to the defensive players and that Parsons will finally come.

“That is quite sick of getting that together,” Parsons said. “Now, they can return to their regular order.”

His regular order ended with the security All-Pro, Xavier McKinney, as the last player introduced, but even McKinney was well to admit.

“As if it were a great addition to this team, a great addition to this defense and … give fans what they want to see,” McKinney said. “… I’m all for that every time.”
