Winners of week 1 of the NFL, losers: Big Qb debuts; McDaniel hot seat
With most of the calendar of week 1 of the NFL in the books, it is time to take a look at some of the biggest winners and losers of the League. It was a great day for a former field marshal of the New York giants and a bad day for his current field marshal, while a key rookie had a great debut for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Winners
Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis colts. The Colts not only exploded to the Miami Dolphins, 33-8, but Jones played one of the best and most efficient games of his career in his debut in the Colts, completing 22 of 29 passes for 272 yards (9.4 yards per attempt), a touchdown and zero interception. That is why he got the work on Anthony Richardson.
Chris Boswell, K, Pittsburgh Steelers. The new field marshal Aaron Rodgers deserves a great praise for having a great game with four Touchdown passes, but Boswell gets the winning column here for making two great field goals: a 56 yards in the first half and 60 yards winning game with a minute to play in the regulation.
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The first round of the Buccaneers had a great debut with four trapped for 67 yards and two touchdowns, including the winner of the game at the end of the last quarter.
